Denyse M. (Heidmeyer) Palinkas

Denyse M. Palinkas, 66, of Oakville (Watertown) passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Monday, April 3, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital.  She was the beloved wife and best friend of Edward Palinkas for almost 36 years.  Born May 31, 1956 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Denyse was the only daughter of the late Merle “Duke” Heidmeyer and Donna (Johnson) Miles.

Family was the center of Denyse’s life.  Time spent with her granddaughter Maggie brought her so much joy.  Denyse was the most loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She was the first to lend a helping hand, to remember birthdays and special events with cards and thoughtful gifts.   She was a “hugger” and gave them the best. She also enjoyed crafting, crocheting, golf, Disney and reading.  She loved a good cup of tea and company. Denyse loved her grand dog Donut and their daily walks together.  Her legacy of love and devotion will be treasured by her family and dear friends.

Besides her husband Ed, Denyse is survived by her daughter Ashlee Rockhill and her husband Tom of Florida, her son Michael Palinkas of Thomaston, her precious granddaughter Maggie Rockhill and her sweet grand dog Donut.  She is also survived by her brothers Daryl Miles of NC and William Heidmeyer of AZ, as well as a tight knit extended family and friends that became family.

An hour of visitation will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 3 PM to 4 PM at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd, Prospect, followed by a service to celebrate Denyse’s life at 4 PM.  Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Palinkas family.  You are invited to share a favorite photo, memory, or your words of comfort and support on Denyse’s Tribute Wall on this website.
