Dennis J. Buckley

Dennis James Buckley, 79, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully November 22, 2024. He was born October 27, 1945 as the youngest of seven children to the late Patrick and Helen (Shea) Buckley.  Dennis was the devoted husband of Carol (Detlefsen) Buckley of 55 years.

Dennis’ class was the first to graduate from the new Naugatuck High School in 1963. Dennis and Carol began dating in 1965 after growing up in the same neighborhood. Dennis began his banking career in the mail room at Colonial Bank and worked his way up over the years and retiring from Webster Bank in 2012. Dennis served in the Navy and later received his Associates degree from Mattatuck Community College. Dennis enjoyed his time with his family, gathering for all types of occasions. He especially liked camping as a young family and liked gaming on the computer.

Dennis leaves behind to cherish his everlasting memory his wife Carol, his daughter Kimberly Buckley and her husband Jonathan Horzepa of Naugatuck, his son Keith Buckley and his wife Leslie Scott of Naugatuck, his grandchildren who affectionately called him “Pop Pop”: Cameron Gordon, Kaelin Buckley and Wyatt Buckley, his sisters Lorraine Robbins, Janice Ulrichsen, and Hazel Danby as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dennis was predeceased by his brothers Edmond and Raymond and his sister Helen Laone.

Family and friends are welcome to gather November 29, 2024 from 6-7pm at Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. Services will be held at 7pm.
