David E. Lee

David E. Lee, 86, of Prospect and formerly of Hamden, passed on peacefully while surrounded by the love of his family, on March 2, 2024 at Waterbury Hospital.  David was the beloved husband and best friend of Patricia (Mudry) Lee for almost 34 years.  Born February 19, 1938 in London, England, he was a son of the late Ernest and Elsie (Garrard) Lee.  David’s wonderful English accent was the ice breaker for many new conversations and ultimate friendships. 

David and Patty met in a pub in New Haven.  Their relationship was the epitome of perfect synchrony.  Being an engineer, David was a planner, inventor and problem solver.  Sailing was his passion as well as traveling.   His favorite place on earth was their home in Naples, Florida. Over the years, he and Patty made many wonderful memories sailing over the open water.   He was an avid history buff.  David’s favorite channel was the history channel. Family was everything to David.  Their blended family occasions were lively and fun filled.  He loved his grandchildren immensely.  His contagious smile, humor and loving nature made him a favorite with so many people.

David’s love and memory will be cherished by his wife Patty, daughter Rebecca (Jeff) Levine of Tolland and son David (Dec) Lee of NC, and his stepchildren: Cheryl (Paul) Cartier of Hamden, Michelle (Timothy) Burke of NY, Mark (Maureen) Edwards of Cheshire, and William (Kelly) Edwards of Mass.  He also leaves his adoring grandchildren Madison Levine, Marleigh Levine, Alex (Kayli) Cartier, Christopher Cartier, Marissa (Ty) Myers, James Burke, Timothy Burke, Alyssa Civitelli, as well as his adorable great-grandchildren Mason, Benny, Ty and Lila. He also leaves his sister-in-law Susan Lee, several nieces, nephews and friends. David is predeceased by his parents and dear brother Roger Lee.

Arrangements:  Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 10am to 12 pm at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd.
