Dale Ford Obituary

Dale G. Ford, 62, formerly of Torrington, passed away October 16, 2024. Dale was born May 21, 1962 to David and Shirley Ford. Dale was the devoted husband of Sharon Ford.

Dale was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Dale worked as a transportation supervisor and dispatcher for Lily Transportation.  Before this position he drove buses for many years.  Driving was one of Dale’s most beloved activities. He loved his career as afforded him the opportunity drive across the country and Canada, and he even drove a bus for a short time for Arlo Guthrie.  When driving closer to home, Dale treasured time in the car with his wife Sharon who he would sing love songs to while he drove her around.

Dale was a very caring man. His family and everyone who knew him would describe him as a thoughtful, understanding, and hardworking man with a great sense of humor and a laugh that you could easily identify as belonging to Dale.

Dale leaves behind to treasure his memories his wife of over 37 years, Sharon Ford, his children Joshua Ford and Joshua’s partner Jennifer Peebles, Bethaney Ford and Bethaney’s partner Damien Robinson, his parents David and Shirley Ford, his siblings Kenneth Ford and his wife Joan, Dawn Knox and her husband Bruce, and his grandson and best friend Joseph Dain Ford.
