Charlotte E. Dargan, 59, of Wolcott passed away unexpectedly at her home on October 28, 2024. Charlotte was the widow of the love of her life, the late Martin Dargan. She and Martin were married 36 years before his passing. Born February 2, 1965 in Waterbury, Charlotte was the daughter of the late John and Deborah (Murphy) Hitchcock.
Charlotte was genuine, loving and dedicated. She cared selflessly for her husband as he struggled with ALS for twelve years prior to his passing last year. Prior to the decline in his health, Charlotte and Martin would hike the trails of Scovill Dam with friends. Charlotte found solace in nature and fresh air. As an animal lover, Charlotte pampered her pets. Calli, her cat, was a constant companion snuggling in Charlotte’s lap.
Charlotte was very involved with her church. She and Martin were devoted Jehovah Witnesses and were dedicated to their ministry. Her church community was their second family and friends.
Left to cherish her love and memory are Charlotte’s brother Paul Hitchcock from Virginia and sister Rachel and her husband Domenic Rosa of Torrington as well her cherished nephews Christopher Rosa and his wife Bec of NY and Matthew Rosa of NY. Charlotte is predeceased by her husband Martin and her parents. Charlie will be laid to rest with her parents at a future date. A memorial talk will be held November 30, 2024 at 3pm at Kingdom Hall, North Main St., Waterbury.
Prospect Memorial/The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with Charlotte’s services and to care for her family during this difficult time of grief. Your words of comfort can be shared on Charlotte’s tribute wall on this website.
