Charles Lombardo Obituary

Charles Lombardo, 72, of Beacon Falls passed away unexpectedly in Florida on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.  Chuck was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Plungis) Lombardo for almost 50 years.  Born May 5, 1950, Chuck was the son of the late Joseph and Marciana (Famiglietti) Lombardo.

Everyone who was blessed to know Chuck loved him.  He was a fun loving, gentle man who had the talent of making everyone he met feel like an old friend.  As an entrepreneur he opened his retail stores of “Absolute Stores” selling unique socks and ties.  He and Marilyn were a great team, not only in business but in life.

Becoming a father and welcoming his children Jeffrey and Kimberly brought Chuck the greatest joy imaginable.  He was a wonderful and proud father.  He was front and center at all sports games, school activities etc. with a beaming smile.

Not only was Chuck a wonderful father but he was a devoted husband, best friend and soulmate to Marilyn for almost fifty years.  They would have celebrated a half century of wedded bliss on June 9th.  They loved to travel.  He and Marilyn were happy “snowbirds” for the past 3 years.  They had deep and abiding friendships in both Beacon Falls and Florida.

Left to cherish his memory and love besides his wife Marilyn are his children Jeffrey Lombardo of Waterbury and Kimberly Lombardo and her boyfriend Ian Jackowiak of Cheshire as well as his brother Joseph Lombardo of Arizona and many wonderful friends.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 9 am at St. Anthony’s Church, 4 Union City Rd., Prospect with burial to immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery 2324 East Main St., Waterbury.  All those planning to attend services are asked to meet directly at the church.  Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Lombardo family.  You are invited to share a favorite memory, photo and your words of comfort on Chuck’s Tribute Wall at www.prospectmemorial.com
