Bruce Walker Modeen

Bruce Walker Modeen Sr., 68, of Waterbury peacefully entered into heavenly rest at his home while surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Bruce is the devoted husband of Melanie (Ash) Modeen. Born February 18, 1955 in Waterbury, he was a son of the late Richard and Dorothy (Walker) Modeen.

Bruce loved his family and his Lord. His wife, children and grandchildren were the light of his life. Bruce shared his love of music with each family member. He was a very talented vocalist, guitarist, and pianist.  At 17 years old he was accepted into The Juilliard School of Music. He worked as a mechanic much of his life, but his favorite profession was that of entertainer. His talent engaged many listeners over the years as he played music of all genres. He shared his musical ministry with the Hopeville Congregation as their Music Director.

Many beautiful memories were made over the years. Each family member shared a specific song in common with Bruce. His humor, pragmatism and love made the last months of his cancer illness less traumatic for himself and his family. He will be so greatly missed by his family and friends.

Left to cherish his love and memory beside his loving wife Melanie are his children: Caitlin Modeen, Danielle Nolan, Tracey Bouteiller, Sarah Stephen, Edward Modeen, Bruce Jr., and Tina Cayia and his brothers Richard and Walter. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren Christina, Lisa Marie, Becky, Tabitha, Scott, Tarot, Christian, Ivey, Justin, Harley, Zoe, Sawyer, Colin, James, Gordon, Kiefer and Savannah and his 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild as well as several nieces and nephews and friends.  Bruce is predeceased by his parents.
