In Loving Memory of Barbara A. (Martin) Bragg
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Barbara A. (Martin) Bragg on June 1, 2026, at her cherished home in Prospect, Connecticut. Born and raised in Prospect, Barbara was the beloved daughter of Alfred W. and Catherine (Griffin) Martin, and she lived a life steeped in love, devotion, and grace.
Barbara was the devoted wife of the late Donald Bragg, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage beginning on June 4, 1955. Together, Barbara and Don crafted a life filled with warmth and joy, raising their two daughters, Dawn (Paul) Krisavage and Elizabeth Crews, in a home where laughter was plentiful and love was unconditional.
A woman of many talents and interests, Barbara enjoyed a fulfilling career at Lewis Engineering in Naugatuck before embarking on a 28-year career as a highly respected real estate agent with Coldwell Banker. Her professionalism, integrity, and genuine care for her clients left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with her.
Barbara was a cherished member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where her faith and kindness touched the lives of many. Her hobbies were as varied as her interests, and she found immense joy in spending time with her family, taking leisurely rides in their treasured 1956 Ford Thunderbird, and attending car shows. Barbara's favorite pastime, however, was her trips to Foxwoods with her dear sister and best friend, Edna, where they shared countless memories over their favorite slot machine.
Barbara's legacy of love extends to her four grandchildren, Adam (Nicole) Krisavage, Carly (Michael) Walsh, Newman Crews, and Ryan Crews, and her two great-grandchildren, Emma and Meghan Krisavage, who brought her endless pride and happiness. Her sister, Catherine Baummer, her sister-in-law, Virginia Woodin, and her lifelong friend, Laura Lucia, remain to celebrate her remarkable life.
Barbara is predeceased by her husband, Donald, her brother Alfred (Betty) Martin, and her beloved sisters, Edna (Frank) Sobireski, Shirley Laiszck, and Maureen Canales. Though their absence leaves a void, her enduring spirit and the memories they shared continue to light the way for those left behind.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Barbara's life, and the family kindly requests donations to be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in her memory, a testament to her lifelong commitment to helping others. As we bid farewell to Barbara, we celebrate the joy she brought into the world and the love she shared with everyone she met. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and resilience will forever inspire those who knew her.
Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with Barbara's arrangements and to care for the Bragg family throughout their grief journey. Sharing your favorite memories, photos and condolences on Barbara's tribute wall can bring lasting comfort to her family.
