Memory of Anna Marie (Semrow) Luschenat
1927 - 2026
Anna Marie Luschenat passed away peacefully on, May 23, 2026 surrounded by her loving family in home hospice. She was the devoted wife of William Frederick "Bill" Luschenat who passed in 2018, for over 70 years.
Anna was born March 18, 1927 in Naugatuck, daughter of the late Frederick and Ottille (Cabel) Semrow. She was a graduate of Naugatuck High School. She worked briefly in the banking sector. Her main importance was to take care of her boys. She was a den leader for the cub scouts and did many projects and trips to local venues for the cubs to see. She also would pick up a baseball glove and have a catch with the boys and even pitch batting practice to them. She was an avid gardener. She has many flower gardens with iris, Japanese iris and many other flowers. She grew and canned vegetables in one of the gardens. She was also an avid quilter and even taught a quilting class for years at the senior center. Once a year, the Prospect Congregational Church would have a bazaar and she would display all of her work. All the pews and walls of the sanctuary would be covered with her works. Many visitors wanted to purchase them but she would never sell them. She took up jigsaw puzzle making and worked with Jeff on over 150 puzzles over the past few years. She was an avid UCONN woman's basketball fan.
She leaves behind her sons Scott Luschenat of Downingtown, PA, Jeffrey Luschenat and wife Theresa of Terryville and Peter Luschenat of Prospect; seven grandchildren Shawn Luschenat and husband Robin Corey of Downingtown, PA, Morgan Luschenat of Frederick, MD; Sam Meagher-Harrelson of Southington, Max Meagher-Harrelson and his wife Nancy of Winsted, Monique Douty and boyfriend Johnny Adams, of Manchester, Melissa Luschenat of East Hampton, Michael Luschenat and his wife Emma of Branford; five great-grandchildren Camden and Aubrey Corey, Matthew Jr., Emma and Megan Douty; along with several other nieces and nephews.
Ann was predeceased by two daughters Gail Marie Luschenat and Nancy Ann Luschenat; brothers and sisters Elsie (Semrow) Hare, Margaret "Grace" (Semrow) Krueger , Adeline Edith Semrow, Avald John Semrow, Olga Lora Semrow, Arthur E Semrow, Ruth "Tootsie" (Semrow) Glick and her brother-in-law Frederick and sister-in-law Ruth (Luschenat) Alexander; and a daughter-in-law, Lynn Luschenat.
The funeral will be at 9:00 am on Friday, May 29, 2026, graveside at Prospect Cemetery, 1 Union City Rd. Prospect. There are no calling hours. Procession to the cemetery will depart Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect at 8:45 am. Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements and to care for the Luschenat family during this difficult time of grief.
