Ann (Blanchard) Genereux

Prospect—Ann Mary (Blanchard) Genereux, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, left this world peacefully on October 2, 2023. She was born on November 8, 1935, to Walter J. and Beulah (Grant) Blanchard in Prospect, where she has lived for many years. After graduating Wilby High School, she met her husband, Marine Raymond Genereux. They had four children: Raymond, Jr., [and his partner Helen], Beth Ann (Genereux) Trantum and her partner, Frank Perry, Michael Genereux, and the late Mark Genereux, [and his wife, Dawn Genereux]. Ann was proud of her five grandchildren, Mark and Zack Genereux, and Jay, Jessie, and Dean Trantum. She leaves behind her many great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.  Ann was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, her brother, Gene, her sister Rosemary, and her parents. She leaves behind brother Ronald Blanchard and his wife Cindy, and her sisters, Sandra Blanchard, and Susan Lamphier and her husband, Craig.

Ann loved her family and friends, was an avid reader, traveler, camper and outstanding baker and cook, especially treating her family and friends to Christmas cookies, homemade breads and cakes, and canned relishes.

She also was busy while the children grew up acting as a Girl Scout Leader, Secretary of the Pop Warner Football League, Treasurer of the St. Anthony Church Ladies Guild, and on the Executive Board of the PTA. Ann was an active member and supporter of the Prospect Senior Center for many years.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Ann’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect, CT 06712. Interment will immediately follow at Prospect Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 8:30am to 10:30am at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home 122 Waterbury Road, Prospect, CT 06712.
