Andre R. Dickens passed on to be with the Lord, while surrounded in the love of his family, at St. Mary's Hospital on May 29, 2025. Andre, 54, of Waterbury leaves to cherish his love and memory: his daughter Andreya Dickens of Winsted, his former wife Kendra, his stepson Jerome Goforth of Waterbury, his sister Debbie Dickens-Kersey and husband Steven of Waterbury and his brother Bobby Dickens and wife Fazeena of Waterbury. He also leaves his nephews Bobby Dickens Jr and Steven Dickens and a multitude of cousins. Born August 10, 1970, Andre was a son of the late Rudolph and Bennie (Wilkins) Dickens.
Andre affectionately known as “Dre” was hardworking and loving. He spent his working hours as a care assistant to residents of group homes. When it was time to relax, Dre enjoyed spending time fishing with his daughter or going to feed the ducks. Later in life, Dre enjoyed the easy comradery of relaxing with his buddies. Sharing a home cooked meal with Dre brought joy to the tastebuds and great memories. His laugh, love and memory will be cherished by his family and many friends.
Friends and family are invited to spend time with Dre’s family on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 3pm to 4:30pm at Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family Funeral Home, 122 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 4:30pm. Prospect Memorial/ The Palmerie Family is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements and to care for the Dickens family throughout their grief journey.
