Devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend
Allan Samuel Lewis,75, of Waterbury entered into heavenly rest after a long illness on May 8, 2021 at the Village Green of Bristol. Allan, also known as “Lewis”, was the devoted husband of Viola(Douglas) Lewis for eighteen years.
He was born on November 10, 1945 to Ernest Lewis and Elsie (Francis) Lewis in Bensonton, St. Ann’s, Jamaica. Lewis settled in the United States in 1979. He worked for many years in the housekeeping department at the Westchester medical center. Lewis was a wonderful cook, loved his family and was a devout and dedicated member of the United Church of God. His fellow parishioners were his second family. Lewis loved to travel; many wonderful memories were made on family vacations. He will be so greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Lewis leaves to cherish his love and memory his loving wife Viola, his daughters; Shernette, Sophia, Simone Lewis and Natasha Williams, his stepchildren; Leonard, Leon, Lennox, Losksley and Latoya Simon all of New York. He will be greatly missed by his twelve adoring grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren and two great grandchildren and his sisters Edna Nooks, Cecilia Douglas and brother Clifford Lewis, his many nieces and nephews and his United Church of God family.
Lewis was predeceased by his son Sean Lewis and his parents.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 22,2021, at 12:30 pm at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd, Prospect. Interment will immediately follow services in All Saints Cemetery 203 Spring Lake Rd. Waterbury, CT where Lewis will be laid to rest .
